DraftKings NFL Week 12 Picks
Well for those who checked out my Thanksgiving picks, you likely won some money. I entered the $16.20 Plymouth Rock game and finished 20th with a $250 payout. I will be entering into the Fair Catch $12 game this week with hopes of cashing out again. There are 10 games for this contest, so let’s decipher through the names and pick out the diamonds in the rough.
While looking at my options for this week, I like to go to UTIL to check out who looks valuable. I was driving to work this morning and heard this absurd bit of news. The Philadelphia Eagles had 5 cornerbacks sitting out of practice this week…5?!?!?!?! Automatically I go with Odell Beckham Jr at $8,800 this week. Even though he is the top priced WR, he needs to be inserted, no matter how popular the pick may be.
Christian McCaffrey is a beast, and now that CJ Anderson is out of the picture, he holds sole ownership of the RB position. Devin Funchess is doubtful and DJ Moore at $4,600 is a legit threat with his 157-yard outing last week. I am fading him this week however, as I believe McCaffrey will shine for our hometown Panthers.
Another position I will not be overthinking is Lamar Jackson at $5,700 for my QB. Oakland is terrible, they are 31st in rushing yards per game allowed, and Lamar is the closest thing to Mike Vick we have ever seen. I expect him to be picked a lot, but if you fade him, go Tom Brady at $6,500. Gronk may be back, and the Jets are in shambles. Play Josh Gordon at $6,400 if you do that…heck…play him regardless!
Now for my dark horse picks. Matt Breida will hopefully stay on the field this week vs Tampa Bay, as the 49ers do not have many offensive options. I like his $5,700 price tag as his usage will be immense. Kenny Stills for Miami is going to be among my below $4,000 choice this week. Stills is one of the few healthy receivers for the Dolphins, and I just don’t trust the Colts defense. According to DraftKings, he played 96% of the team’s snaps against the Packers. He is always a deep threat on this offense, and hopefully Tannehill is “semi-healthy” after being out awhile.
Austin Ekeler is my flex play this week. His ability to run and catch passes are underrated, and Melvin Gordon could be out. The Chargers are playing the Cardinals in a non-divisional game this week, and I fully expect Ekeler to get higher usage. Also, if you don’t go Zach Ertz or George Kittle in the plus $6,000 range at TE, go David Njoku at $3,700. Baker has a good repertoire with the young tight end, and barring his questionable injury tag is erased, he is a solid play.
I went with the Jaguars D/ST this week at their hefty $4,000 price tag. The Ravens are at $3,300 and I know they will be played a lot…even though their defense has not had a INT since week 5 against Cleveland. They probably are due, but the Jags will surely shut down Josh Allen and the Bills.
