NBA DraftKings Tips for 12/21/18
Alright guys, this is my first DraftKings article, so brace yourselves! I’m gonna help make you guys rich tonight!! Tonight’s slate has 10 games and there are some really interesting matchups. Initially there is nothing that really jumps out at me to focus on one certain game in these matchups, but I don’t think that will be necessary tonight.
The biggest concern tonight is if LeBron James and Anthony Davis will play in their matchup. Both are dealing with undisclosed illnesses and are game-time decision. If they aren’t playing tonight, you should be able to find some cheap players in that matchup. Brandon Ingram is coming back after dealing with an ankle injury, so he may see some of LeBron’s opportunities if King James can’t play. Ingram is $5,600 tonight, but proceed with caution, he may be limited. A player that isn’t limited and should receive a good chunk of opportunity is Kyle Kuzma. He’s price at $7,200, but I think he is well worth it if LeBron doesn’t play. The Pelicans do not have a great defense and Kuzma should shine tonight. On the other team, Anthony Davis is GTD, Nikola Mirotic is Doubtful, and Julius Randle is expected to play, but is a GTD. If Julius Randle is a go, he is $7,500 and he should be in your lineup. He is just too valuable to pass up, but if he is a last second scratch, you can go with a really cheap, $3,300 option in Jahlil Okafor. He’s a great scoring big, but is a risky play. So again, proceed with caution.
A guy that I consider to be money tonight is Kemba Walker at $8,600, He’s played the Pistons twice this year and is averaging 50.1 FFPG, both games have been decided by 1 point, I’m not really expecting this one to be different. The Hornets rely very heavily on Walker and at $8,600, he has great value. From the same game, I’m taking a cheap value pick with Reggie Bullock at $4,800. After missing 5 games with an ankle injury, Bullock has been very solid. In the 3 games back, he is averaging 31.9 FPPG, so I say ride the hot hand. For the price, I think he is definitely worth consideration.
Another game that I went with more than one player is the Orlando-Chicago matchup. Nikola Vucevic is difficult to pass up in this one. These two teams played last Thursday and Vucevic had a 26 point and 10 rebound night. At $9,200, he is a little pricey, but I think he is possibly your best option if you’re looking to spend. Chicago is a broken team right now and they have bad rebound numbers, so this makes Vucevic vs. the Bulls a match made in heaven. Also from the same game, I had to find some cheaper options, because I used a good chunk of my salary already. I’m looking at Justin Holiday with a $5,300 price tag. Holiday has played really bad the past 3 games, shooting just 6-32 from the field. I look for him to fix his cold spell tonight.
I decided to look at an upper mid-level and lower mid-level option to round out my lineup, I went with Tim Hardaway Jr. at $7,400. He is a great scoring option every night, but I went with him tonight because this season he has averaged 49.6 FPPG against the Hawks. That is nearly elite level, so I’m not ignoring that. Look for more of the same in this matchup. To finalize my lineup, I wanted to go with a consistent option that was going to get a solid amount of court time. I ended up going with Cedi Osman against the Raptors. It’s not the greatest matchup, but I think Osman can hold his own in this one. He is priced at $4,200 and in his two matchups this year against the Raptors, he is averaging 33.0 FPPG, which is upper mid-level in my book.
Good luck tonight and I hope The Sports Chief can help you win some cash tonight!!!
