NBA DraftKings Tips for 1/10/19
Alright guys, another day and hopefully another few hundred dollars earned in DFS for you guys tonight. We have a 4-game slate coming up today and the matchups are not the most desirable, but hopefully The Sports Chief will lead you in the right direction for your lineup. We have Celtics vs. Heat, Clippers vs. Nuggets, Thunder vs. Spurs, and Pistons vs. Kings. Personally, I think the game with the highest yield will be the Clippers and Nuggets. I feel like these two teams will duke it out and the team with the best offense will win. Kings and Pistons is the most underrated game of the night. I think we could also see some solid performances out to this one. With a shorter slate of games, that leaves less room for error, picking the right players is crucial. I will highlight the people that I think have the best opportunity for points and hopefully this will help you building your lineup tonight. Let’s get this party started!
Like I said, picking the right players tonight will be crucial and I feel like you need an anchor tonight to stabilize your lineup. You could always go with a high-priced anchor like Russell Westbrook ($11,300) any given night and you can count on him to turn in a great performance, but I think the high-priced anchor to pick tonight is Nikola Jokić at $10,500. The Joker has been a monster as of late and I think he will keep the ball rolling against the Clippers. The Clippers have one of the worst scoring defenses in the NBA and Denver will capitalize on that. Hopefully Jokić will rack up some assists tonight and in case he does, you should pair him with Jamal Murray ($7,300). Murray is a guy that can light up the scoreboard if given the opportunity and I think he will have a shot tonight. Gary Harris may miss tonight’s contest so that will give him even more chances to turn in a solid performance. I had to go with a couple value picks tonight, because I think you guys should spend big tonight. Malik Beasley ($3,800) is a steal tonight as far as value goes. Even with Gary Harris playing, Beasley is seeing a great number of minutes on the court. This is a risky play, but you have to have risky picks if you are willing to spend on higher volume players.
The game that I said would be an underrated matchup for DFS value is the Pistons and Kings. Automatically one name that I single out is Blake Griffin at $9,200. Griffin has grabbed a total of two rebounds in the last two games, don’t expect this to continue. Griffin is going against a Kings squad that allows the most rebounds in the whole NBA. Also from this game, I went with Reggie Jackson ($5,000) to pair with Griffin. The Nuggets are not great against the Point Guard position and this could be Jackson’s chance to shine. On the other team, I chose Marvin Bagley at $5,000 as well. Bagley is coming back from a minor knee injury, but it appears he will get a full go in this contest. The Pistons have the best defense against 3P%, but are the 6th worst in the NBA in opponent FG%, that tells me that their inside defense sucks, so Bagley should get some shots off inside tonight and if he does, look out.
From the remaining two games, I have two more players that I put in my lineup. I wanted to go with another cheaper option with a little bit of value. My first instinct was to pick Dion Waiters at $3,500, but I felt it was too risky, due to the fact that the he may not touch the court too much tonight against a solid Boston defense. I decided to go with Marco Belinelli ($3,200), because he will definitely see great minutes on the floor with Rudy Gay out of action, and he is a huge deep ball threat. If he catches fire tonight, he could possibly have close to a 20-point game, which is a remarkable value at his price. My last player to choose was down to two players, the first was Jayson Tatum ($6,000). I decided not to go with Tatum only because of shot opportunities. I think he will get a decent amount of shots off tonight, but the other guy that I was considering at more scoring chances. I went with Josh Richardson at $5,800 for that reason alone. I think he will throw up a decent number of shots and I feel slightly safer matchup wise with Richardson, but not by a large margin. Richardson has also should be on the court for roughly 35 minutes tonight, which Is why I felt more comfortable picking him. I feet like Boston may look at Jaylen Brown, who had a great performance his last game, or Gordon Hayward possibly in this one more than Tatum. I hope I’m right about this.
