Song of the Day: Wish You Were Here

THE LYRICS ARE HERE, PEOPLE, SO PLEASE DON'T ASK! Guys, I know this isn't the original album cover, but I think it's an amazing picture, and I believe it represents Pink Floyd's legacy and success throughout these years. This song was posted as a tribute to Syd Barrett.

Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd. One of their biggest and most famous tracks and it just so happens to be about their long lost friend and band-mate, Syd Barrett. After Barrett, Pink Floyd’s founder, went off the deep end do to drug use, the band had to continue on without him. Years later the band catapulted into the mainstream with Dark Side of the Moon, and Wish You Were Here was the follow up album and this is the title track from that album. The album revolves around Barrett and his inability to cope with the stardom, and Wish You Were Here is pretty straight-forward, the band misses Syd. But ironically while the band missed his friendship, it’s hard to argue that the band would’ve been better off and more successful had he stayed around.
