Survivor Series Predictions

The most unique PPV of the year is here and tonight should be a fun show. The introduction of NXT into this show is a phenomenal idea and I’m glad people that don’t watch NXT will get a chance to see what the yellow brand is all about. Some of these matches may be too busy, like the 5-on-5-on-5 matches, but a lot of them should be great matchups. We may see some titles change hands and that is interesting because over the last few years, they didn’t have title matches. This is probably the most unpredictable PPV all year, but with that being said, here are my predictions and share what you guys think will happen.

*Predicted Winners are bolded

*Match Card is likely not in exact order

- Men’s Triple Threat Match: NXT Cruiserweight Championship

Lio Rush (C) vs. Kalisto vs. Akira Tozawa

WWE

WWE

This match was just added and unless I’m missing something here, I don’t have a clue why Lio Rush would lose the title. He is currently the NXT Cruiserweight Champion and unless Tozawa or Kalisto is jumping to the yellow brand, I don’t really see a scenario in which they would win. It says there is also a Battle Royal in the kick off show, but I don’t see any confirmed entries, so I will not predict a winner.

-       Women’s Triple Threat Match

Becky Lynch vs. Bayley vs. Shayna Baszler

WWE

WWE

I am really excited to see these three ladies get into the ring. They have done a tremendous job of building the match and I personally think it has to go on first. This is a main event caliber contest and I really didn’t know who to choose. I think there could be some sort of interference, but to be honest, there hasn’t been a lot of PPV matches with an interference lately, so I’m conflicted. Shayna Baszler is currently the favorite at -110 and Becky has the next best odds at +150. These ladies are too strong of competitors to take a loss, and that is the biggest reason why I think it will be an interference of some sort. If I have to pick a clear winner though, when in doubt, go with The Man.

-       Men’s Survivor Series Triple Threat Elimination Match

Team RAW (Seth Rollins, Drew McIntyre, Randy Orton, Ricochet, Kevin Owens?) vs. Team SmackDown (Roman Reigns, Braun Strowman, King Corbin, Shorty G, Ali) vs. Team NXT (TBD)

This is an incomplete match card at the moment and we will find out who will be on Team NXT on the kick off show. Although we don’t completely know who will be on the team, we have a good idea of a couple of them. Last night, Kevin Owens showed up to WarGames and his status with RAW is in question. I personally think he will jump brands and that is better for him at the moment. Tommaso Ciampa also has to be a lock due to his team winning last night. I’d say Velveteen Dream is a safe bet to be in the match and I think someone like Walter could be in the match, but other than that, i’m not sure who will be in it. Whoever is going to be on the NXT side, I think the momentum from last night and their stiff rivalry with AEW will be the main factor in them winning here. They currently have the least favorable odds at +225, but I think this is NXT’s match to lose. NXT winning is likely going to be a theme tonight, so get used to it.

-       Men’s Triple Threat Match

AJ Styles vs. Roderick Strong vs. Shinsuke Nakamura

WWE

WWE

I’m really interested to see this matchup, but I think it is a pretty unpredictable match. AJ Styles is the current favorite at -125. Nakamura is at +150 and Strong is at +300. The main reason behind picking Nakamura tonight is based solely on the fact that the Intercontinental belt underwent a huge redesign. There will be an urge to get some credibility for the new look and Nakamura picking up a win should get them on the right path. I feel like we have seen a lot of AJ Styles, but Nakamura hasn’t been featured a ton since winning the title. Strong also seems like he is a tag along with the Undisputed Era, but we should see a great match tonight regardless of how they are viewed on their respective brands.

-       Men’s Triple Threat Tag Team Match

The Viking Raiders vs. The New Day vs. Undisputed Era

WWE

WWE

This is another potentially great match, but another match that is difficult to predict. I’m going with The New Day, despite them having the least favorable odds. This match could go in a number of different directions, but I think Kofi losing the title in the fashion that he did is still a sore spot among fans. This is a big reason why I think The New Day will win here. I’m not expecting a show stealer here, but if they are given ample time, it should be an awesome showing.

-       Men’s Singles Match: NXT Championship

Adam Cole (C) vs. Pete Dunne

WWE

WWE

Yesterday, I predicted that Dunne would win the number one contender match, but I didn’t stop there. I also predicted that he would win tonight and I’m sticking with it. Adam Cole has been champ for 175 days and that is ample time for a very successful title reign. I can’t imagine this being his last title reign, but it is Pete Dunne’s time. The Bruiserweight is the longest reigning WWE United Kingdom Champion and I think he will get his first NXT Championship tonight. This could be the show stealer, so I’m anxious to see what happens here.

-       Women’s Survivor Series Triple Threat Elimination Match

Team RAW (Charlotte Flair, Asuka, Kairi Sane, Natalya, Sarah Logan) vs. Team SmackDown (Sasha Banks, Carmella, Dana Brooke, Nikki Cross, Lacey Evans) vs. Team NXT (Rhea Ripley, Io Shirai, Candice LeRae, Bianca Belair, and Toni Storm)

WWE

WWE

This match has a ton of potential and I think that this will be another match going in favor of the yellow brand. This will simply be another opportunity for NXT to shine and I think that they are going to make the most of that here. The NXT roster is absolutely stacked compared to the others and they are going to show who has the best women’s division tonight. It wasn’t officially announced who was going to represent NXT until WarGames was over last night, but I love this lineup. Rhea Ripley and Toni Storm are two of my favorite competitors right now and I think they will both be huge in this match.

-       Men’s Singles Match: Universal Championship

“The Fiend” Bray Wyatt (C) vs. Daniel Bryan

WWE

WWE

There is no way that Bryan takes a win here. I really don’t know why they rushed this feud, but we are getting it and I think it was just to give Wyatt a formidable opponent. Not that I’m not excited for it, but it just seemed like there wasn’t enough time to get a heated feud going. I don’t know what they have planned after this match, but this may not be the last we see of Daniel Bryan facing Wyatt. I guess we’ll find out soon enough.

-       Men’s No Holds Barred Match: WWE Championship

Brock Lesnar (C) vs. Rey Mysterio

WWE

WWE

A Rey Mysterio win would be awesome here, but I’m not expecting it whatsoever. The No DQ stipulation opens the door for a possible interference, particularly with Cain Velasquez. It should be interesting to see how this match unfolds, because I’m not anticipating a squash, but I know it is very possible. Lesnar is currently a -400 favorite and I figured it would be higher, but I guess there are still some doubts. Mysterio winning here would garner a huge, positive reaction from the crowd, but I wouldn’t count on The Ultimate Underdog winning.
