WWE Power Rankings: Week of December 1st

It’s the first week of December and were closing in on 2019. It has been another crazy year in wrestling. Towards the end of the month, I will piece together a year end article of the Power Rankings and we will find out the best wrestlers of 2019. It should be cool to see who is at the top. All of the shows were solid this week and it was not very difficult picking a Top 10, but it was a little troubling due to Survivor Series being last Sunday. Here there are and if you agree or disagree, let us know.

-       10: Keith Lee (NR)

WWE

WWE

Although Keith Lee didn’t pick up a win this week, he was a strong looking competitor this week. He was the star of the Men’s Survivor Series Elimination Tag match, but took the final fall to Roman Reigns. He had a chance to shine and he made the most of it. He also teamed with Dominik Dijakovic on Wednesday and lost to Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly in a title match.

-       9: Candice LeRae/Dakota Kai (NR)

This was such a strong segment, I felt wrong leaving these two out of the Top 10. Dakota Kai and Tegan Nox have a feud at the moment, but Nox is unable to compete, so it looks like we’re getting Candice LeRae instead at the moment. This should be a strong short-term feud moving forward.

-       8: AOP (NR)

WWE

WWE

AOP made their return to in-ring competition and they looked strong. They faced Ryder and Hawkins and won in quick fashion. They will be a force moving forward and it looks like they may be teaming with Seth Rollins in the future, but maybe it was just an attention diverter.

-       7: Lio Rush (NR)

WWE

WWE

Since the Cruiserweight title has moved to NXT, it has been featured properly. Lio Rush has been a great fighting champion and he successfully defended the title twice over the last week. First on Sunday against Akira Tozawa and Kalisto, then on Wednesday against Akira Tozawa. Hopefully this continues in the right direction for the Cruiserweights.

-       6: Kevin Owens (3)

WWE

WWE

Owens looks like he will be a key piece on RAW moving forward. He is currently in somewhat of a feud with Seth Rollins and appears that he may be a title contender very soon. He had a main event match with Rollins on Monday night, but the match ended in DQ with an interference from AOP. I like that KO is working as a face and Rollins looks like he is a transitional phase, so it should be interesting in the next few weeks.

-       5: Asuka (NR)

WWE

WWE

Asuka had a main event caliber match with Charlotte Flair on RAW and Asuka pulled out a big win. Asuka is currently half of the tag team champions and it looks like they may be transitioning her back into singles competition. I hope this is the case, but for now, it is good to see her on TV consistently.

-       4: Rhea Ripley (1)

WWE

WWE

Ripley continued to dominate this week after having a stellar weekend last week. She led the NXT women to victory twice and she appeared to be coming for Baszler’s title next. She has just the right momentum to take the title form her and I’ve been saying this for moths. Ripley is the perfect person to do so and the match between her and Baszler should be great.

-       3: Undisputed Era (2)

WWE

WWE

UE was huge this week and they continued to be the biggest group in wrestling this week. Cole successfully defend his title against Pete Dunne on Sunday and Roderick Strong won a big match against AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura. Like is said earlier, the other two in UE also had big weeks as the defeated Keith Lee and Dominik Dijakovic to retain their tag titles. It was a big week for this group and I think it will be more big weeks to come.

-       2: Rey Mysterio (NR)

WWE

WWE

It felt wrong to put Mysterio at number two, but I think it was the right choice. He had a huge week and even though he lost an exciting match to Brock Lesnar on Sunday he made up for it Monday earning two huge wins. He defeated Ricochet, Drew McIntyre, and Randy Orton to see the number one contender for the US title and he ended up beating AJ Styles to earn his second United States Championship. He totally deserves this and if you guys didn’t see his first match on Monday night, I’ll attach a video with the exchange between Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre. It was awesome, but congrats to Rey.

-       1: Bray Wyatt (NR)

WWE

WWE

Wyatt successfully defend the Universal Championship on Sunday and he was the key player on Friday Night SmackDown. He revealed a new title design exclusively for his Fiend character and it has mixed reviews, but I honestly don’t mind it in this certain situation. He and Daniel Bryan appear to be still feuding at the moment and there have been rumors of The Fiend having a female counterpart in the near future. That should be interesting, but for now it is great TV.
