Song of the Day: Help Me, Rhonda

On this day…March 8th 1965, The Beach Boys released “Help Me, Rhonda” on The Beach Boys Today! album. It became a number one song on the Billboard Hot 100 on May 29th, 1965. This became The Beach Boys second number one song (the first was “I get Around”). A fun fact for this hit, is that it was recorded as an “album filler” essentially…and Rhonda was even spelled Ronda in the original. This goes to show you, you never know what could “hit it big” in the music industry. More than likely…most of you have heard this song, but if not…today is your day!
