Spring has officially begun and MLB has started its season. This will be The Sports Chief’s first MLB DFS article, and hopefully we can guide you to winning some cash this season. Tonight’s slate is rather short with only 5 games being played. Weather does not appear to be a factor tonight. So let’s get it going!

Pitcher

Gerrit Cole ($11,400):

So, this is a pretty high price to pay for a pitcher, but it is necessary to get Cole in your lineup. The Rangers are rather weak on the offensive end and with guys like Joey Gallo going against Cole, I expect the K’s to come with the territory. Cole lost in his first outing vs Tampa Bay, but his 10 strikeouts are great.

Infielders

Cody Bellinger ($5,000)

You have to keep picking the hot-hitting Bellinger. I know Cody is out to prove that his 39 HR rookie season was no fluke, and with 5 HR’s already I look for that trend to continue tonight against Derek Holland. His track record against Holland is 0-3 with 3 BB’s…but throw that out the window at this time.

Ben Zobrist ($3,900)

I like Zobrist versus Teheran tonight. The utility player has averaged 9.0 DK points this year, and the lefty/righty matchup is nice. At a sub 4K pricepoint, it is hard to disagree with Zobrist in SunTrust Park.

Outfielders

Ronald Acuña Jr. ($4,800)

Give me all the Acuña I can handle tonight. Jon Lester has never faced the young phenom, but Lester is the worst pickoff pitcher in baseball. I like the speed options for the Braves in this matchup. I believe Acuña gets a steal tonight.

Andrew Benintendi ($4,800)

The Red Sox Outfielder is off to a slow start this season batting .150…but he will be going against Marco Estrada who he hits very well. With a career .350 AVG against Estrada, I look for Andrew to break out of this slump
