2019 Money in the Bank Predictions
This is the first PPV since WrestleMania and I am ready for things to get switched up. Money in the Bank should do that and more. At the moment, there are 11 matches on the card, but another could be added to fill a void in the pre-show. The two ladder matches should be interesting, because it is really a toss-up as to who will win the matches. We are also going to see one competitor defend two titles on the same show, which should be pretty cool. I really hope this isn’t an extremely lengthy show, but I always prepare for the worst. Like I said earlier, the ladder matches will be extremely difficult to come away with a predictable winner, but the other matches should be fairly easy to predict.
*Predicted Winners are bolded
*Match card is likely not in the right order
- Men’s Tag Team Match - Non Title
Daniel Bryan and Rowan (C) vs. The Usos
The Wildcard rule is a way to ease the removal of the brand split and this is a big indicator of that. I personally like the brand split, but they weren’t really doing anything to build a separation, so it has lost the interest of fans. The team of Daniel Bryan and Rowan became new champs a couple weeks ago by beating The Usos, so I don’t really expect them to drop the titles so quickly. SmackDown’s tag team is pretty weak at the moment, so this may be an indication that Daniel Bryan and Rowan could be champs for a lengthy run.
- Men’s Singles Match – Cruiserweight Championship
Tony Nese (C) vs. Ariya Daivari
I don’t really know enough to go into a ton of detail about this match, but I know Tony Nese looked great at WrestleMania and the 205 Live guys rarely disappoint in the match quality department. It seems awful quick for Nese to drop the title, so that’s what I’m going with.
- Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match
Natalya vs. Dana Brooke vs. Naomi vs. Mandy Rose vs. Ember Moon vs. Bayley vs. Carmella vs. Nikki Cross
This could literally go to any competitor. All of these women deserve a real shot at a championship, but among this list, I say Ember Moon could be the one to win. Four of these women are former champions and could legitimately take the briefcase. If I had to pick another option, I would probably go with Naomi, because it has been way too long since her last real title opportunity and the same goes for Natalya. Nikki Cross was added to the match the other day, because Alexa Bliss wasn’t cleared for the match. This should be a fun match regardless of the outcome.
- Women’s Singles Match – RAW Women’s Championship
Becky Lynch (C) vs. Lacey Evans
This feud has been a really fun one. As far as characters go in the WWE, these two have to be my favorites at the moment. I’m not really sure how the match will be, but they should keep it interesting. I don’t expect Lacey Evans to be champion this quickly, but crazier things have happened. I like Lacey Evans, but I think there will be a lot of upset fans if she wins a title this quickly. At this point, I’m not sure if there are many women in the WWE over enough to take the titles from her.
- Men’s Singles Match – United States Championship
Samoa Joe (C) vs. Rey Mysterio
Mysterio could easily win this one, but I think Samoa Joe takes this one. It should be a much better match than the one at WrestleMania, but it wouldn’t take much of a match to better than that one. On Sunday, Samoa Joe will go into the match with a 74-day reign, but I think it would be best to build onto his reign to make him look stronger. Over the last few years, that seems like the going rate for a US title reign, but I think they’ll wait for him to drop it to someone else, maybe someone like Braun Strowman in a special crossover.
- Men’s Singles Match
Roman Reigns vs. Elias
I would be shocked if Roman Reigns isn’t the winner of this match. Roman seems like he is on the fast track to the WWE Championship, but I think this will be a fun match to watch. There isn’t much to say about this one because it was thrown together over the last few weeks and it seems like the beef is more with Mr. McMahon. It’s been a weird feud, but one I expect to be done with after this Sunday.
- Men’s Singles Match – Steel Cage
The Miz vs. Shane McMahon
This feud has gone on way too long. WrestleMania should have been the end with The Miz taking the win, but here we are. We are seeing another match, but this time they have a steel cage surrounding them. A steel cage match is usually a indicator that a feud is ending, which I hope is the case. This has run its course and The Miz should definitely end up winning the match.
- Men’s Singles Match – WWE Championship
Kofi Kingston (C) vs. Kevin Owens
This could be later in the card, but It has to be in consideration for match of the night regardless of the placing of it. Going into Sunday, Kofi will have held the belt for 41 days and I don’t think he stops there. The WWE is in need of strong faces, and Kofi Kingston is a fan favorite. I would totally understand if Owens wins the match, but the way they have twisted it on SmackDown indicates to me that Kofi is keeping the title. The last time I checked, Kofi was a slight favorite, but it could honestly go either way.
- Women’s Singles Match – SmackDown Women’s Championship
Becky Lynch (C) vs. Charlotte Flair
This gives Becky Lynch a four-match gap to recover from her match with Lacey Evans, which I think is sufficient. I predict that Lynch will retain both titles, but if she is going to lose one, it will be this one. Like I said earlier, not many women in the WWE are over enough to legitimately take down Lynch. In my opinion, the list starts and ends with Charlotte Flair. I’ve heard that Charlotte may enter the tag team division, but I just don’t think that makes sense for her. Who would she team with? Charlotte winning this match makes perfect sense, but I don’t think it happens this time.
- Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match
Randy Orton vs. Ricochet vs. Drew McIntyrevs. Baron Corbin vs. Ali vs. Finn Bálor vs. Andrade vs. Sami Zayn
This is another match that could go in a number of directions. It is a good possibility that it will go on last, but there are a great deal of big matches on this card, so that is the only reason I think it won’t. Adding Sami Zayn to this match makes me think he could win it, but I think Strowman could interfere. I don’t know what the WWE’s is planning for either competitor at the moment, but I could see a rivalry coming up for the two. Drew McIntyre makes the most sense to me right now. There were reports that the WWE was disappointed in the way the last two Money in the Bank executions went down and it is no secret that Mr. McMahon is a Drew McIntyre guy. This should be a fun match and I fully expect the winner to have a successful cash-in when the time comes, but I don’t expect one on Sunday.
- Men’s Singles Match – Universal Championship
Seth Rollins (C) vs. AJ Styles
This is a match that has been highly anticipated and I think it will be one that WWE Network subscribers will get their money’s worth. I hope to see more from these two in the future, but I’m not expecting it. As much work as it took for someone to take down Lesnar, I just can’t believe a scenario where Rollins would drop the title after a little more than a month. This should be match of the night, but I’m not completely convinced that it will be, because I think there is so much potential in this PPV. It should be a late card match and I personally think it will be the main event. Look for Rollins to be champ on Monday night.
