All Out Sells Out Within 15 Minutes

Wrestling’s hottest promotion, AEW, sold out its August 31st event in just 15 minutes. The event is going to be held at the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman States, Illinois, which is about 25 miles from Chicago. People were chosen at random to enter the ticket server and the waitlist ended up piling up to nearly 60,000 people. This number is absolutely insane considering the fact that this promotion is still over 3 months away from making their television debut.

AEW’s Double or Nothing was a huge success and this event is expected to be more of the same. Many performers and people involved within the company are thrilled to see this happen and I really think this will give them extra motivation to go out there and put on the best show possible.

As I look through Twitter, I have noticed some excited fans that secured tickets, but many are upset because they didn’t have a chance at grabbing tickets to the event. StubHub and other secondhand ticket suppliers have available seats, but to the dismay of many fans, the tickets are marked up 3-5 times more than the face value in most cases.

Even though there are just two official matches on the card as of this moment, I have a feeling it will only get better. ‘Hangman’ Adam Page and Chris Jericho will square off to determine the first ever AEW World Champion and the other match is between Kenny Omega and Jon Moxley, which I think will be the main event of the show.

AEW selling out this event so quickly is bad news for the WWE. The premiere wrestling promotion has a PPV event next week and the event still has ringside tickets for sale. Many wrestling fans are becoming bored of the WWE product and AEW is something that is new and fresh. Also, AEW is providing viewers with content similar to that of the Attitude Era and older fans will simply jump ship to watch more mature content.

Long story, short. The wrestling business as a whole is in a great place if an event like this is selling out within an hour. The Sears Centre Arena doesn’t quite support 12,000 people, but the fact that people are this excited about the product is tremendous news. The show will be broadcast on B/R Live, but the price for the PPV remains to be seen.
