Bad News for LeBron and the Los Angeles Lakers

Los Angeles Lakers fans are loving life right now, celebrating the fact they’ve made their second blockbuster offseason move in as many years.  Last year it was LeBron deciding he wanted to go to the historic Laker organization and yesterday premier player Anthony Davis was traded to play alongside LeBron.  So the optimism is flowing at an extreme level in LA right now.  But there’s bad news: the Los Angeles Lakers will never win another championship again.

That’s right, after being one of the most successful franchises in professional basketball history with 16 total championships, it looks as if their reign is now over with no hope of ever getting another ring.  That’s because Lavar Ball said just that.  And if there’s one thing we’ve learned over the past few years it’s that Lavar Ball is never wrong.  I mean, let’s look at his track record:

·       “Lonzo will only play for the Lakers”

·       “All three of my boys are going to be one-and-done”

·       “I’ll tell you right now [Lonzo] is better than Steph Curry”

·       “Lonzo is going to take the Lakers to the playoffs in his first year”

·       “Back in my heyday, I would kill Michael Jordan one-on-one”

·       “I would beat LeBron James one-on-one in my heyday because he’s too weak”

So, now that your memory is refreshed of SOME of the claims Lavar Ball has made over the last few years, you can easily see how the Lakers have some real problems on their hands right now.  Forget that they have LeBron James.  Forget that they have Anthony Davis.  Forget that their offseason isn’t done yet.  They might as well not even bother trying to sign another free agent, or perhaps shipping that #4 overall draft pick to another team in exchange for another asset.  Their season---their future until the end of time---is toast.  They should probably just disband the franchise and let the Clippers run LA from here on out.  Because Lavar Ball has spoken.

Now, personally, I find the whole situation very funny.  I don’t like Lavar Ball one bit, if you can’t tell by now, and think he’s just a self-centered nutcase.  Anybody who seriously thinks they could’ve beaten Michael Jordan one-on-one should have their brain examined.  So to me, it’s funny that Lonzo Ball got shipped away to New Orleans.  It’s funny that it’s far away from Los Angeles.  It’s funny that it’s not a big market team with a lot of publicity.  It’s funny that the Pelicans won’t win.  It’s funny because Lavar stated a few months ago he didn’t want his son playing for the Pelicans.  It’s even funny to think that he is a “Pelican,” the worst team name in the NBA.  I love everything about it.  You just really have to feel bad for the Lakers and their fanbase..
