Song of the Day: Twist and Shout

Our song of the day is the Beatles’ cover of Twist and Shout that is very popular and featured in the movie Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. It was written in 1961 and originally recorded by the Top Notes, but it was the Isley Brothers that made it a hit the following year. This song has been covered quite a bit, including this Beatles cover, and a later cover from the rock band The Who.
