Song of the Day: Ain't No Sunshine

Happy Sunday and I hope you all have had a great week. Today’s Song of the Day is from Bill Withers and Withers’ rise to fame was an interesting one to say the least. “Ain’t No Sunshine” was the first big hit of his career in 1971. At the time, he was 32 years old, but only really started to bust into the music scene a year earlier. He was raised in a coal mine town of West Virginia outside of Beckley and he went on to reach big heights in his musical career including 3 Grammy awards, one of which he won for this song. In 1985, he left the music world and hasn’t been back. Many wish he would’ve recorded at least one more album, but he no longer enjoyed the grind of a recording artist, so he left that part of him behind in 1985. I hope everyone has a great Sunday and I hope you guys watch a lot of Football today.
