Carmelo Anthony is back!

As many of you may or may not know, Melo has been one of my favorite players since the 2003 NBA draft.

In a lot of ways I actually modeled my style of play after him as a PG/SG.

Following the last season when the Chicago bulls waived him after being traded from the Houston Rockets, I felt Melo's career was over. As much as I wanted him to continue to play, it did not seem likely. He had become slow, un explosive, and a poor scorer.

During his time out of the league, Melo lost a lot of respect from other teams, and no one was willing to sign him, even at a minimal deal. He was even denied a spot on a terrible USA men's basketball team. While working on getting back in the league, it appeared Melo had worked through some troubles in his personal life, which had a positive impact on his health.

For the 2019/2020 season, Melo was signed by the portland trailblazers and is in much better shape physically, and I would assume mentally! Melo is making quick moves, showing his explosiveness and flat out scoring. Sometimes in life, you have to hit "rock bottom" in order to rebuild and grow as a person. The season is still young, but Melo is showing significant progress and reminding us all who he is! I look forward to seeing Melo perform throughout the season and hopefully, in the near future be an NBA championship contender.
