Song of the Day: The Gambler

I’m going with a classic today. “The Gambler” was a song that was covered by several artists, but it was Kenny Rogers’ version that really took off. After it was released on his album titled The Gambler in 1978, it made its way to the top spot on the country Billboard chart and even made its way to #16 on the pop charts. Back then songs hardly ever crossed over onto a different genre’s chart. And then Rogers went on to win a Grammy for best male vocal performance of the year for this song. It’s one of those songs that everyone knows, regardless of what kind of music you listen to. So, enjoy this timeless classic and enjoy your brand new week!
