WWE Power Rankings: Week of October 11th 2020

Happy Columbus Day everyone. I hope you all are ready for night 2 of the WWE Draft and last Friday proved to be pretty interesting. Although the concept of the draft without figure heads or GMs is kind of pointless, it is intriguing to see where the superstars end up after each night. There is a new draft pool for tonight and things can be as interesting as they were on Friday night. Here are the rankings for last week’s action.

10: Asuka, Mandy Rose, and Dana Brooke

WWE

WWE

The situation with Mandy Rose getting trade to RAW and Dana Brooke going with her has been just a jumbled up mess over the last few weeks, but they made the most of it last Monday night. They teamed with Asuka to defeat Zelina Vega, Lana, and Natalya. It wasn’t the best of matches, but it perhaps gives them a little edge moving forward.

9: Randy Orton/Drew McIntyre

Orton and McIntyre opened RAW and Orton delivered a promo in the “legends room” after explaining in detail that he attacked HBK, Ric Flair, Christian, and Big Show last week on RAW. McIntyre found him and attacked him. They were separated, but this seems like a feud that is standing on its last legs. Even great feuds don’t last forever and Orton/McIntyre is showing its age. They were in the main event of RAW and Orton, Ziggler, and Roode prevailed over McIntyre and The Street Profits. It appears that we’ll see the last of them feuding at Hell in a Cell.

8: Ridge Holland

WWE

WWE

Ridge Holland had a nice win on Wednesday night against Danny Burch, but it looks like he will be out of action for a little while. He had a nasty leg and what appeared to be an ankle injury as well on the other leg. It looks like he will miss some action and I hope the recovery goes well. He certainly has a lot of potential.

7: Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler

WWE

WWE

Jax and Baszler retained their tag titles on RAW last Monday against the Riott Squad. This was the matchup that we were supposed to see at Clash of Champions, but instead saw it last week. The match wasn’t awesome, but they made the most of it. It will be interesting to see what happens next for the champs. Interestingly enough, there are rumors that former Divas Champion, Paige may be looking to return to action pretty soon. That could certainly make the women’s division a little more interesting.

6: Murphy/Seth Rollins

WWE

WWE

There have been a lot of mixed reactions to the Mysterio/Rollins storyline, but I think it has it the mark every week. Sure the whole Mysterio family getting involved in a storyline is a little cheesy, but they all have done a solid job. Murphy turned on Rollins last week and it has been the highlight of their alliance to this point. I don’t know what they have planned for Murphy, but I think he is too talented to be dumped after this feud.

5: Rhea Ripley and Ember Moon

WWE

WWE

It sure is good to see Ember Moon back in the ring. This week, she teamed up with Rhea Ripley and took down Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez. Moon looked great and Rhea Ripley looked like her normal self. Ember Moon heading back to NXT is a win for the brand and herself.

4: Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns has been absolute printable money since his return. He has a different level of swagger and he is cutting promos on a different level. Reigns delivered another masterful promo this week on SmackDown and it appears that the feud between he and Jey Uso will definitely end at Hell in a Cell. It has been a great feud thus far and i’m interested to see what happens afterwards.

3: Bray Wyatt

WWE

WWE

This was Wyatt’s first match on television since transforming into The Fiend and was the first time that he had a match on SmackDown since April of 2017. Wyatt defeated Kevin Owens and the contest was never in doubt. The Alexa Bliss angle has taken another turn and it appears that she and Wyatt are in a full-fledged alliance. I don’t know if this was a one-off between Owens and Wyatt, but I think they can build something here.

2: Mustafa Ali

WWE

WWE

Ali is the leader of Retribution. I felt like there was something in store for Ali, but I wasn’t quite expecting him to be behind the Retribution attacks. He has been such a great babyface and I wasn’t expecting them to turn him heel, but it appears that will be the case moving forward. This is a great opportunity for him and the member of the group.

1: The New Day

WWE

WWE

Some may not agree with my number one ranking for the week, but I personally think that they more than earned it. Big E and Sheamus opened SmackDown with a wonderful Falls Count Anywhere match and Big E walked away with a victory. Later in the show, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods returned and happened to win the SmackDown Tag Team Championships. Also to make things more interesting, it was announced that Kofi and Woods were drafted to RAW, but Big E is staying on SmackDown. I really dislike the fact that they’re split up, but this will be a great opportunity for Big E to shine as a singles competitor. It’s going to be interesting to see what happens with the tag belts too.
