We’re Down to the Elite 8 in the Best WWE Entrances Tournament
If you’ve been keeping up with The Sports Chief during this very slow sports news period, you know that we decided to do a March Madness Bracket of the Best WWE Entrances with 68 wrestling entrances. We have now narrowed those 68 down by 60, to the Elite 8 portion of our tournament. The final eight entrances remaining in the tournament are:
#1 Undertaker (Dead Man)
#1 Stone Cold
#1 Triple H
#2 Shawn Michaels
#4 Undertaker (Biker Taker)
#6 Kurt Angle
#7 CM Punk
#10 Jeff Hardy
With no surprise, the Dead Man Undertaker, Stone Cold, and Triple H are still in the tournament. They were #1 seeds for a reason. The final #1 seed was The Rock, who just got knocked out of the tournament by the Undertaker’s other famous entrance, as Biker Taker. That wasn’t totally a surprise though, as I figured that was going to be an extremely good match-up. It was surprising though, that Biker Taker took an overwhelming 75% of the vote against The Rock.
I understand the love for CM Punk, but I was surprised to see him take down #3 seed Eddie Guerrero in the Sweet 16. I have always loved Eddie’s unique entrance, as do many, but CM Punk just barely edged him out to advance. Kurt Angle has made a nice Elite 8 run as well, with two big wins in a row knocking out Bray Wyatt’s The Fiend entrance and Hulk Hogan’s. Yes, we all know Kurt’s entrance is a classic, especially with the crowd participating, but I don’t think many of us expected him to make it all the way to the Elite 8.
The March Madness run that I’ve been impressed with the most is #10 Jeff Hardy. After beating Shane McMahon in the first round, Jeff proceeded to take down John Cena and Bray Wyatt (Wyatt Family), two wins that I totally wasn’t expecting. But his tournament run has me pulling for the beloved wrestler from North Carolina. He’s really got his work cut out now though, with Triple H next.
