WWE Power Rankings: Week of March 30th 2020
It is the final week of Power Rankings until WrestleMania and hopefully this suits everyone. While many of the segments and matches are definitely weird right now, they’re seemingly still moving forward. I’m not going to go into lengthy detail with these entries, so here they are.
-10: Otis/Dolph Ziggler
Many are loving this feud. And by that I mean, many are hating on Ziggler and siding with Otis. It looks like they will have a singles match at WrestleMania and at this point, it is almost a must. Go Otis!
-9: Io Shirai
Io Shirai came away with a big win on Wednesday to secure her spot in the #1 contender ladder match coming up. It is good to see Shirai back in action, hope she can regain momentum fairly quickly, because she is a title worthy talent.
-8: Drew Gulak
Gulak picked up a win against Shinsuke Nakamura on SmackDown this week and this secured a match between Daniel Bryan and Sami Zayn at WrestleMania. It is a weird way to book a match if you ask me, but it probably is a good thing you aren’t asking me on a lot fo things.
-7: Alexa Bliss
Alexa Bliss defeated Asuka this week on SmackDown in surprising fashion. Since teaming up with Nikki Cross, I personally feel like her star power has somewhat diminished for some odd reason. This win felt almost monumental, and it really shouldn’t feel that way, considering she is a 5-time Women’s champ. Regardless, it was a big win for her. To bad she and Asuka aren’t going to face each other at WrestleMania.
-6:AJ Styles
Styles didn’t really do a lot this week, but a stipulation was added to his WrestleMania match. He challenged Undertaker to a Boneyard match and I don’t really know what that consists of, but i’m intrigued. I guess we’ll find out this weekend.
-5: Seth Rollins
Rollins had a lot to say about Kevin Owens last week and things are heating up between the two. I don't know haw things will end here, but even though Rollins got the better of the two this week, in my opinion, i’d say Owens has the momentum going into Mania.
-4: Angel Garza and Andrade
Garza and Andrade had a great match on RAW and picked up a win against Ricochet and Cedric Alexander. In doing so, they earned a #1 contender spot against The Street Profits at WrestleMania. It should be an interesting contest. It doesn't look like Andrade will be on the team though. Austin Theory will take his place due to an injury. This will give Theory a chance to showcase his talent on a huge level. What a way to have your first main roster match.
-3: Tommaso Ciampa/Johnny Gargano
It appears that the best feud in NXT is coming to the closing stages. It sucks that they can’t end their feud at TakeOver, but the match this week should be great. They did a great job to build for their upcoming match last week.
-2: Bray Wyatt
Wyatt vs. Cena 2 at WrestleMania should be wonderful. Here’s another exhibit of not having a crowd is a total disadvantage. Some are saying that this could be Cena’s final career match and if so, it is a total shame. Wyatt’s segment this week was great.
-1: Becky Lynch
Last Monday was another great example of why Becky Lynch is at the top of the Women’s division. She simply knows how to sell a fight. Baszler winning the title seemed like a sure thing a month ago, but I think it is a 50/50 split at the moment. Other than the last couple of weeks, the build for the match has been pretty poor to be honest, but it seems like they’re finding a groove here. It isn’t crazy to think that Lynch is still champion, but the fact that she has kept fans intrigued all this time is somewhat surprising. It really is a testament to her star power.
