Fans of The Office Must Watch THIS!
In a time where we could all use some good news, John Krasinski (you know him better as Jim Halpert) has started a Good News segment on YouTube. With this week being the 15-year anniversary of The Office, Krasinski brought on Steve Carell to reminisce a little about the show, and it was like Jim Halpert and Michael Scott catching up after some time. Watch the video below and enjoy (5:38-11:10 for The Office segment).
Quick thoughts: Man, Steve Carell is looking old. But maybe that’s just because I watch The Office just about every day so I’m used to seeing him looking 10-15 years younger. I also did not realize that John Krasinski was just 23 years old during the first season. I know Jim Halpert was 27 years old during the first season, so I just assumed he was in his later 20’s. And I loved the part where he said he was waiting tables at the time and after shooting the pilot episode, went back to waiting tables because he thought the show would never make it! Luckily, he was dead wrong on that assumption.
My main takeaway from this little segment was just how much fun it seemed the cast had while filming The Office. It seemed like everyone got along great, loved filming together, and became family. Like they mentioned in the video, the cast would root for each other during their parts to shine. And it was clear just how much they cared for each other when John and Steve talk about how difficult it was to film the “going away” scene in Michael’s office. I’m coming up on watching that episode again and I dread it every single time.
I know Office fans want a reunion and another episode to re-live one of the greatest tv shows of all time. Whether we ever get that or not, little videos like this will be the closest thing to it. If you’re a fan of the show, I hope you enjoyed this as much as I did.
