A New WWE Game is Coming to 2K Games

Just a few days after officially cancelling WWE 2K21, 2K Games is introducing a new arcade style wrestling game. The new game will be called WWE 2K Battlegrounds. If you are familiar with NBA 2K Playgrounds, it should be very similar to that game. 

Saber Interactive Studios is creating the game and continuing the relationship between WWE and 2K Games. WWE 2K20 was the worst wrestling game since their start with 2K Games and that isn’t my opinion, that is a fact. There were a lot of cool features on 2K20, but it was almost unplayable due to glitches and numerous problems with the game. 

There isn’t a lot we know about WWE 2K Battlegrounds yet, however, we can expect a simpler, fun, and a less realistic experience. I have NBA 2K Playgrounds 2 on the Nintendo Switch and I think it is a really fun game to play. It is simple and anyone can pick it up and play. A game like that for WWE could be a blessing in disguise. This will give them more preparation time to create the game that they want in 2021, when WWE 2K22 is expected to be released. And that is to say if the relationship between WWE and 2K Games is still continuing, which I think it will. I hate that there won’t be a realistic WWE game until the next generation, I assume, but hopefully WWE 2K Battlegrounds will be just what we were looking for. The expected release date for the new game is in the Fall of 2020.
