2020 Money in the Bank Predictions
The next WWE PPV after WrestleMania is finally here and again, it will be in front of no crowd. Money in the Bank is one of the most exciting PPV’s of the year and this year will be no different. For one men’s and one women’s wrestler, it will be the ticket to a shot at a title of their choosing and anytime within the year. It is always interesting to see when the briefcase holder cashes in and sometimes, we even see briefcases holders cash in the day of winning the ladder match. Here are my predictions for the show.
*Match Card is likely not in the exact order
*Predicted Winners are bolded
- Men’s Singles Match
R-Truth vs. MVP
This match was just announced yesterday, so I think we’ll see it in the kickoff show. MVP has been in a handful of matches since making his return to the WWE in January, but I don’t think he’ll win here, unless he has some sort of interference help. I think that will be exactly the case. Thorne and Vink have been on RAW over the last few weeks and MVP seemed impressed with them. I think MVP will align himself with them.
- Men’s Singles Match
Jeff Hardy vs. Cesaro
I don’t understand why this isn’t going to be a match between Sheamus and Hardy, but Cesaro and Hardy should be interesting enough. It could go either way, but I think Hardy gets the win here. It will be in the preshow, so we can expect it to be in a more condensed fashion.
- Fatal 4-Way Tag Team Match: SmackDown Tag Team Championship
The New Day (C) vs. The Miz and John Morrison vs. The Forgotten Sons vs. Lucha House Party
There are two teams I can see winning here and those two teams are Miz and Morrison or The New Day. The New Day hasn’t had a long reign, so they could easily retain, but I think that they will opt for Miz and Morrison to have a legitimate run with the belts, because The New Day won the belts in a regular triple threat match.
- Women’s Singles Match: SmackDown Women’s Championship
Bayley (C) vs. Tamina
While I think it would be cool to see Tamina win the belt, I don’t think it will happen. Bayley has been a strong champion and I don’t think that will change within the next month or two. Bayley is a rather large favorite, currently sitting at -450.
- Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match
Daniel Bryan vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Aleister Black vs. King Corbin vs. Otis vs. AJ Styles
Unlike the Women’s ladder match, I can see all competitors having a shot. Otis is the least likely to win, but I will say it would be awesome to see him grab the briefcase. I legitimately think that this is the perfect time to give Aleister Black a shot to prove himself as a title contender. With that being said, it would not shock me to see Bryan, Styles, or King Corbin win either.
- Men’s Singles Match: Universal Championship
Braun Strowman (C) vs. Bray Wyatt
It wouldn’t surprise me to see Wyatt win here, but since it isn’t The Fiend, I think Strowman will retain. The last few weeks have been interesting between Wyatt and Strowman and I could see the feud continuing after the show, but for now I think Strowman will have a successful title defense. Odds are currently even for both superstars.
- Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match
Asuka vs. Shayna Baszler vs. Nia Jax vs. Lacey Evans vs. Dana Brooke vs. Carmella
This could go a number of different ways, but in all honesty, I think there are only 2 or 3 legitimate choices at the moment. Shayna Baszler makes the most sense. The thing about Baszler is that she isn’t a RAW superstar even though she has been on the show for the 2-3 months. That could be a factor, but I ultimately think it won’t be. I would like to see Lacey Evans win. Over the last few weeks, she has been putting up ladder match prep videos and they have been very entertaining. Also, Becky Lynch isn’t on the card hasn’t isn’t currently in a feud, so that could indicate a victory from a RAW superstar, or at least with an affiliation. We’ll see what happens, but I think it will be Baszler for the win.
- Men’s Singles Match: WWE Championship
Drew McIntyre (C) vs. Seth Rollins
This should be a fun match, but it would shock me to see McIntyre lose. The Champion currently has the best odds of anyone on the whole card to win and I can’t see it going any other way. It is a shame to see these circumstances played out for McIntyre’s title run, but hopefully things will start returning to normal and he can get the fan reaction that he deserves.
