Song of the Day: The Rose
Happy Sunday Everyone and Happy Father’s Day to all of the dads out there. Well, today’s song isn’t correlated to Father’s Day, but it is one that is attached to a movie, which happens to be my favorite movie. It is from Napoleon Dynamite and “The Rose” was released by a few people, but i decided to choose the Conway Twitty version, because he happens to be one of my favorite country artists. I personally think that Conway had the best vocals in country music history, but I guess that is a matter of opinion when you get down to it. The song was released originally by Amanda McBroom in 1979 and it was made famous by Bette Midler the following year, but Conway’s version came in 1983. Along with Conway’s version, I will also put the version used in the movie, which was performed by Middler and accompanied by the Happy Hands Club in the movie scene. Have a great day everyone.
