AEW Power Rankings: Week of June 3rd 2020

There wasn’t quite as much excitement in this week’s Dynamite, but it had a tough act to follow after last week. It was a good show. We finally got to hear from FTR since debuting on AEW and there were a couple titles on the line and I think it will be interesting watch the TNT Championship be on the line each week. Here are my rankings for the week.

5: Nyla Rose

Nyla and Big Swole had a really good match this week on Dynamite. We haven’t seen Big Swole on TV a lot and this was a great opportunity for her. She held her own with the former Women’s Champion and don’t think this will be the last we see of her. While Nyla gets the credit for the win and a spot in the Power Rankings, Big Swole was the real winner here.

4: Brian Cage

Brian Cage has been seen as a dominant force since his debut in AEW and this week was no different. He faced Shawn Dean this week and won in quick fashion. These squashes are just getting him familiar with the AEW fans and at the same time setting him up for his match with Moxley next month.

3: Chris Jericho

Jericho faced Colt Cabana this week and I thought the matchup was perfectly fine. Cabana got a good chance to showcase his skills, but in my opinion, the best part of the segment was Orange Cassidy coming out when Jericho challenged the Baddest Man on the Planet. It was an entertaining segment to say the least and we may see Orange Cassidy and Jericho in the near future.

2: Cody

Cody’s first title defense was successful against Jungle Boy in the main event on Wednesday. It was a grueling match and Cody as the first TNT champ is a smart move because he can singlehandedly give the title prestige. My only complaint is that there was no need for a blade job. Cody bleeds way too often for my liking, some of it is legitimate, but most of the time it is scripted blood. Anyway, some people like it, but I think it was unnecessary this week.

1: Kenny Omega and Hangman Page

Omega and Page finally had another successful title defense and this time, it was against the team of Kip Sabian and Jimmy Havoc. Havoc and Sabian have been a role as of late and I think if they won, it honestly wouldn’t have been a big shock. Page and Omega continue what has been a wonderful title reign thus far and I guess we’ll see if that keeps going.
