Song of the Day: The City of New Orleans
Good morning America, how are ya? I love this song by Arlo Guthrie and it feels fitting for a Monday morning as America wakes up to begin a new week. This was a 1971 song recorded by Steve Goodman after riding a train from Chicago to New Orleans. Just a year later Arlo Guthrie released his version of the song, which would become a major hit, reaching #18 on the Hot 100 Billboard chart. Many artists have covered this song, including the legendary Willie Nelson in 1984. But it is Guthrie’s version that is my favorite. Everyone have a great start to the brand new week!
