Song of the Day: Uncle John's Band
Uncle John’s Band by The Grateful Dead. The first song on the band’s famous Workingman’s Dead album which was released in June of 1970. Which just happened to be just five month prior to the band releasing American Beauty in November of that same year. 1970 was quite the year for The Grateful Dead to say the least as they released two all time albums just 5 months apart. Both of these albums featured a similar style which was a folk-rock sound with some psychedelic vibes mixed in. You can here that right away in Uncle John’s band with the dual acoustic guitars and harmonious singing which sounds similar to that of CSNY.
