WrestleMania 37 Night Two Predictions
Night One is over and we’re on to Night Two of WrestleMania. Night One was a solid showing and I will break it down more thoroughly in a later article, but I feel like each match delivered what it needed to in one way or another. I feel like Night Two has the better card in my opinion, so I’m excited to see what they have planned tonight. It is great to have fans back in the stands cheering (or booing) the WWE superstars and hopefully we can all go to wrestling events in the near future. I’m not going to waste any more time, so here are my predictions for Night Two of WrestleMania.
*Match Card is likely not in exact order
*Predicted winners are bolded
- Women’s Tag Team Match: WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship
Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler (C) vs. Natalya and Tamina
There aren’t any odds for this match, so it’s up in the air as to who is the favorite. My guess would be slightly in Natalya and Tamina’s favor, but that is just a guess. Natalya and Tamina looked solid in last night’s tag team turmoil match and I think that they could have a good run with the tag team belts. Natalya has had plenty of big moments in her career, but it is great to see Tamina getting a chance to fight for a title of some sort. Hopefully they win tonight, but I can’t really argue though, Jax and Baszler have been good tag champs thus far.
- Men’s Singles Match: United States Championship
Riddle (C) vs. Sheamus
I would be shocked if Sheamus wins here. He is actually the current favorite at -140, which is very surprising. Riddle was the slight favorite yesterday, so bettors may know something that we don’t? I don’t know. If this were for the Intercontinental Championship, I would say that Sheamus would win hands down, but since it is for the US title, a title that Sheamus has won, my guess is that he takes the loss here. Riddle has been good as champ and I look for that to continue beyond WrestleMania.
- Men’s Singles Match
Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn (with Logan Paul)
This has been a very one-sided feud with Kevin Owens entering the match as a big favorite. His odds are currently at -500 and I really can’t see him losing. Sure, Zayn has Logan Paul on his side to possibly sway the outcome, but I honestly think that Paul will be on KO’s side by the end of the match. There really isn’t a whole lot to say about this match. It was practically created out of thin air and Logan Paul happened to come into the scene just a couple weeks ago. It still should be pretty entertaining though.
- Nigerian Drum Fight: Intercontinental Championship
Big E (C) vs. Apollo Crews
This match is basically 50/50 to predict. Big E comes in as a strong champion, but Apollo Crews has never had this much momentum in his career. Neither outcome would surprise me, but what will be interesting is finding out what exactly a Nigerian Drum Fight entails. My guess is that it would be a hardcore match of sorts, containing drums surrounding the outside of the ring, but that is a complete guess. This has the makings to be a really good match and put an end to a really good feud and I’m excited to see what happens here. Apollo was the favorite basically all week long, but they currently have even odds. We’ll see what happens tonight.
- Women’s Singles Match: RAW Women’s Championship
Asuka (C) vs. Rhea Ripley
Rhea Ripley is a big favorite tonight at -300, but I really don’t know why. I understand why, but I don’t get it. I am a fan of Ripley’s work in the ring, but they need to build her shot at the RAW Women’s Championship a little more. She hasn’t had one singles match on RAW or SmackDown and her getting a title shot just because she asked for it is a pretty stupid move on creative’s part. I understand why they made the decision, they practically had no more options left to compete for Asuka’s championship. Lacey Evans got pregnant, Charlotte Flair caught Covid at the wrong time, and Peyton Royce got her shot on RAW a few weeks ago. There were really no more options. She is a proven competitor in NXT, but there are a lot of fans that don’t have the slightest clue about NXT performers and only watch RAW and/or SmackDown. Could Rhea Ripley legitimately win the title in a couple months? Absolutely, but WrestleMania isn’t the place to get her first crack at a main roster singles match for the belt. The thing about it, people are going to compare her to Bianca Belair, but Belair has been on the main roster for a full year competing in matches, Ripley has not. I think this could be an incredible match but going with Ripley as champion would be a wrong move at this particular moment. I think Asuka will be your winner and at +200 odds, I will take that bet all day long.
- Men’s Singles Match
“The Fiend” Bray Wyatt (with Alexa Bliss) vs. Randy Orton
It would be a huge shock to see Randy Orton win here. Wyatt was at one point yesterday a -2000 favorite. Currently, he is a -850 favorite, so why the significant shift. Randy Orton had such a big return value that I think a lot of bettors went in on Orton, but I don’t think that will be a sign of things to come tonight. Wyatt should win pretty decisively and if I had to put an over/under on the match time limit, I would put it at 4 minutes or less. It should be interesting to see if Wyatt’s in-ring moves and entrance changes with this new look for The Fiend.
- Men’s Triple Threat Match: Universal Championship
Roman Reigns (C) vs. Edge vs. Daniel Bryan
Odds have shifted quite a bit over the last few days in this matchup, but I think we see a successful title defense. Edge is the favorite at -150, Roman’s odds are at +220 and Bryan’s odds are at +415. I think that there is a really good shot that Edge wins the title, and it happens to be the 10-year anniversary of his emotional retirement speech on RAW and I think that could be a sign of things to come, but I’m going to go a different route. Since it is a Triple Threat match, that means it is a no-DQ match. We haven’t seen Jimmy Uso since WrestleMania 36. I think he joins his brother Jey and they aid Roman Reigns in the match. Paul Heyman is obviously aligned with Reigns at the moment, but Heyman is notoriously known to be the advocate for Brock Lesnar. If you want to find a way to turn Lesnar into a good guy, have him come out to attack Reigns, Heyman and the Usos to avenge the fact that the main event wouldn’t have a legitimate ending. You could build Lesnar and Reigns with Paul Heyman being the centerpiece of the feud for the next few months. It makes sense to me, but who knows? The fact that Edge has turned heel over the last couple weeks makes me think that he won’t win, and I don’t think Bryan is going to win, so that leaves one option in my mind. Of course, Edge winning straight up would be something that the fans would like to see. Nevertheless, I’m excited to see the main event.
