Song of the Day: Rain King

What a fantastic album this was. “Rain King” is one of many great songs on the Counting Crows very first album, August and Everything After, which also featured “Mr. Jones,” “Round Here,” and “Omaha.” The album was released in 1993 and this song was released as its third single. After reading a little bit about this song, the band’s singer Adam Duritz said he was inspired to write this song after a book he had read in college titled, “Henderson, the Rain King.” I hope everyone has a great Monday and gets their week off to a great start!
