Song of the Day: Nothing Else Matters

Nothing Else Matters by Metallica. Released in 1991 on the band’s self-titled, fifth studio album, Metallica. Nothing Else Matters only hit #34 in the US but was a lot more appreciated in Europe where it hit the top 10 in 12 different countries and hit #1 in Denmark. Of course the album itself, Metallica, hit #1 on the US charts as it was loaded album. And despite some of the old school Metallica fans not liking the new sound of the band on the Metallica album and thinking they sold out with power ballads like Nothing Else Matters, it ended up being their best selling album. Over 16 million copies sold in the US alone and the album was ranked at 235 on Rolling Stone’s top 500 albums of all time list.
