Extreme Rules (2022) Predictions
I tell you what, I love having Saturday night PPVs. They’re so much more convenient It looks like we’re going to have a great show tonight as well. Roman Reigns and The Bloodline aren't on the card, but they don’t need to be to have a great show. As of now, there are only 6 matches on the card and I think that will be the perfect amount. We are also going to see a lot of variety as far as match types are concerned. It appears that each match will not have any type of DQ and that’s the way it should be for an Extreme Rules PPV. It also appears that the identity of the White Rabbit will be revealed, so that will be another cool thing about the show. I’m looking forward to that and I really don’t want to even try to guess who it might be. The PPVs are much more exciting and the weekly product is much more exciting than in previous years. Hopefully that trend will continue, but for now, let’s dive in to the next PPV.
*Predicted winners will be bolded
- Women’s Ladder Match: RAW Women’s Championship
Bianca Belair (C) vs. Bayley
I think this will be a great match and like a lot of these matches, I am undecided as to who I think will win. Belair is favored slightly, but I think Bayley could win here because she and Damage Control have a lot of momentum right now. With that being said, nothing as been confirmed, but we usually have a WWE Draft around this time. I think Belair could be moving to Friday night, because she has been on RAW for quite a while now. With Bayley getting back into the fold, and her strong heel work, I think she will win the belt. It also wouldn't surprise me to see Sasha Banks get back into action pretty soon, but I don’t think that she will appear tonight. This is a toss-up.
- Men’s “I Quit” Match
Edge vs. Finn Balor
With a card filled with “steal the show” potential, this is definitely in the top half of the list. I expect a hard-fought contest here and again, another toss-up. I’m picking Balor, but I really don’t have a good reason why I am. Balor will obviously have the help of his group, so I guess that is as good of a reason as any. Edge is slightly favored.
- Men’s 6-Man Good Old Fashioned Donnybrook Match
The Brawling Brutes vs. Imperium
Imperium is back, for the most part, and I think they will have the advantage here. They are such a strong and intimidating team and I think this match will steal the show. There are a lot of potential matches that could do so on this card, but considering how impressive Sheamus v. Gunther was in the UK, I think this will be at the top of the list. Imperium is favored, and I think they will win.
- Fight Pit Match
Matt Riddle vs. Seth Rollins
Including this match, I think any of the next 3 matches could end the show. That is actually a good thing. It proves how strong the card is. This has been by far the best feud on the card and the fight pit match is going to be incredible. With that being said, this is Riddle’s match to lose. He is the only one on the active roster to have been in a fight pit and that alone should give him the advantage. With that being said, Rollins winning wouldn't exactly be a shock.
- Strap Match
Drew McIntyre vs. Karrion Kross
Strap matches are usually very interesting and with two competitors like McIntyre and Kross, you know it will be a tough contest. I’ll give the edge to Kross, but like every match on this card, I think it’s a toss-up. I say Kross will win because of the fact that I think he’ll be next the next victim of Roman Reigns. I don’t have a lot to say here, but I think most people are expecting it to be the match of the night.
- Women’s Extreme Rules Match: SmackDown Women’s Championship
Liv Morgan (C) vs. Ronda Rousey
Liv Morgan is proving the doubters wrong with her reign. I personally wasn’t expecting her to still be the belt holder, but here we are. I wouldn't be surprised if she retains and that’s saying quite a bit. She has been a very good champion, however, there is no shame in losing to Ronda Rousey in an Extreme Rules match. I think Morgan’s reign ends, but now we know that she is more than capable of being champion again.
