Song of the Day: Kodachrome
Happy Friday folks! While taking a drive the other day, I happen to stumble across this song on the radio dial…”Kodachrome” by Paul Simon. This song was released in 1973 and is off of Paul Simon’s There Goes Rhymin’ Simon album. It almost hit #1 on the Billboard Top 100…it reached #2, but nonetheless it is a 70’s classic that many people have heard. It creates an atmosphere that is relaxing and draws you back to a simpler time. I cannot relate to the Kodachrome, made by camera giant Kodak…but to me it is a relatable song. To me, it shows how obsessed people are with creating an alternate reality where there are no worries or problems…but you could say it is to save memories as well. I like the slam on Nikon in the lyrics too, the camera wars must’ve been intense! Either way, Paul doesn’t want his momma to take his Kodachrome away. Have a Happy New Year everyone and let’s get after it in 2023!
