Song of the Day: In My Life

In My Life by The Beatles. Released in 1965 on the band’s sixth studio album, Rubber Soul. My number one complaint, like a lot of Beatles songs, it’s way too short. So much of the Beatles catalog, consists of two and a half minute heaters, and this is one of the many. While the lyrics are credited to both Lennon and McCartney, the song was primarily written by Lennon and Lennon even described the song as his first real major piece of work as it was the first time he had wrote lyrics about his own life. While the song wasn’t exactly a huge hit on the charts when it was originally released, the song is on pretty much on all top songs of all time lists and Mojo even named it the best song of all time, which is quite the distinction.
