Hell in a Cell (2022) Predictions
The demonic structure of Hell in a Cell is back and here tonight. It looks like we’re only getting one HIAC match tonight and that is perfectly fine with me. I don’t think they could’ve picked a better one either. With that being said, the card is pretty weak considering. Don’t get me wrong there are some good matches, but there’s only one women’s belt on the line and no men’s belts other than the US. The tag belts aren’t on the line either, but obviously I know they’re setting those up for a bigger stage. The stories in play are pretty good, but they’re not good enough to keep me watching each week. I personally think the main event will be the only thing worth watching at this point. Hopefully that isn't the case when the show starts. We have 7 matches tonight and I think the show should flow well. I won’t give too detailed explanations here, but let’s dive in.
*Predicted winners are bolded
- Men’s Singles Match: United States Championship
Theory (C) vs. Mustafa Ali
I think this could go either way honestly, but Theory has the momentum. Both of their styles are similar, and they could decide to do a title swap here. This one is tough to predict for me. It is crazy to think that Ali is still with the company because of his public demand of a release earlier in the year, and it seems odd that he’s on a PPV considering, but here he is. I think he could legitimately win tonight despite being a +350 underdog.
- 6-person Mixed Tag Match
The Judgement Day vs. Finn Bálor, AJ Styles and Liv Morgan
The arrival of Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley into Edge’s super faction has been a nice change for the WWE. I really like what they’re doing, and they fit wonderfully together. This has a great story attached to it. I can't imagine Judgment Day will lose considering the momentum that they have, but who knows. There are rumors swirling that we could be getting a return, not only that, but there are rumors that this group could add another member. We’ll see, but nevertheless, it should be a fun match.
- 2-on-1 Men’s Handicap Match
MVP and Omos vs. Bobby Lashley
Naturally the two-man pairing will have the upper hand in a handicap match, but this match is actually favoring Lashley. I don’t think it will go down that way though. Lashley has basically been in control of all the momentum since the start of this ordeal, so I think Omos will get his tonight. The thing that puzzles me though, you wouldn’t think the giant is the one that needs the extra man in the handicap match. It’s a real puzzler.
- Men’s No Holds Barred Match
Happy Corbin vs. Madcap Moss
The time has come for Madcap to get one up on Corbin. This has been a solid feud and Moss has a lot of momentum on his side. In a lot of cases, a no-DQ match favors the heel, but I don’t think that will be the case here. Moss is favored by quite a lot and I think it will be the result tonight.
- Men’s Singles Match
Ezekiel vs. Kevin Owens
I don’t know which direction to go here. People were not sold on this feud whatsoever when it started, but they work tremendously together. This feud has been very entertaining, and it would help Ezekiel a lot more than Owens, but I think Owens wins tonight. This match isn't a very vital one for either of these guys, but it should be fun.
- Women’s Triple Threat: RAW Women’s Championship
Bianca Belair (C) vs. Asuka vs. Becky Lynch
Triple Threats are notorious for title changes, but I don’t think it will happen here. This will be a big prove-it moment for Belair and if she can beat both of the ladies in a match, it will be another big moment in her growing legacy. Belair is heavily favored and that is saying a lot considering most triple threats are usually close considering odds. I don’t know who will be next for Belair, but I think she and Becky could feud forever and nobody would care. I could see a title change here, but I don’t think it’s very likely.
- Men’s Hell in a Cell Match
Cody Rhodes vs. Seth Rollins
Cody Rhodes has received the push of his life since entering the WWE. By the way, he’s earned it. He’s main eventing the PPV with Rollins and this will be their third and likely, last match for a little while. These two are perfect opponents for each other and this match should be wild. The last time Rollins was in a HIAC, it was possibly the worst cell match of all time, so he will get a big chance to redeem himself. With that being said, does anyone remember his opponent for that horrible cell match? I here he’s possibly making a comeback. I don’t know if that will happen, but it would be wild if we did see a big comeback
