Song of the Day: I Won't Back Down

I Won’t Back Down by Tom Petty. Released in April of 1989 on Tom Petty’s Full Moon Fever album. The song reached #12 on the US billboard and #1 on the US Rock charts. Fun fact about the song, George Harrison plays acoustic guitar and sings backing vocals on this song. Then in the music video Ringo Starr appears on the drums, though he did not play drums on the recording of the song. The song has also become a huge hit at sporting events and none bigger than at the University of Florida football games. It’s only fitting with Tom Petty being a Gainesville native that the University of Florida football stadium belts this song out at every home game.
