NFL Top 10 Power Ranking (After Week 6)

Detroit Free Press

The NFL has no more undefeated teams as of Week 6. Heading into Week 7, there is a bit of rearrangement in the Top 10. Let’s see who is in the Top 10 heading into a new week of action.

10: Cleveland Browns (3-2)

The Browns have somehow found their way into my Top 10 this week. They haven’t made the games look pretty, but they’re probably a bubble Top 10 team in most people eyes. Their defense is the real deal and they can beat anyone. They proved that this week, taking down the best team in the NFL up until this point. Not to mention the fact that PJ Walker was their starting QB. The Browns appear to be a potential playoff team as of now.

9: Dallas Cowboys (4-2)

Dallas squeaked by the Chargers on the road, 20-17 last night and despite their inconsistency, they are a Top 10 team, yet again. I don’t think very deserving of it, but there really isn’t anyone else worthy at this point to jump inside the Top 10.

8: Baltimore Ravens (4-2)

The Ravens made the leap inside the Top 10 after a big win in London against the struggling Tennessee Titans. Despite the Titans offensive struggles, they are still a solid defensive unit. The Ravens are another team that doesn’t make it look pretty, but they get the job done. They have a tough test against the Lions coming up, so we’ll see if they have staying power.

7: Jacksonville Jaguars (4-2)

I have no change for the Jags, despite defeating their division rival, Colts 37-20. The game really shouldn’t have been that far apart. The Jags simply won the turnover battle and took advantage of it. With that being said, they probably deserve the Top 10. They have a Thursday night matchup against the Saints, this week, so we’ll see if they are here to stay.

6: Philadelphia Eagles (5-1)

The Eagles are 5-1, but they certainly haven’t played like one. They are honestly a bubble Top 10 team in my opinion. They have played like a 50/50 team all season long and it took this long for them to finally take an L. They were beaten by the Jets and they have the hot Dolphins up next. Look for them to go on a bit of a skid in the next few weeks with the Commanders (who they only beat by a field goal in Week 4) and the Cowboys after that.

5: Buffalo Bills (4-2)

Man, these rankings are tough to place this week. OK, the Bills didn’t deserve to win against the Giants on Sunday night, but they did. So, they stay in the bubble of the Top 5. The Bills have the struggling New England Patriots next week, but could easily be a trap game for them.

4: San Francisco 49ers (5-1)

I may catch some flack for dropping the Niners 3 spots, but they deserved it after getting embarrassed by the Browns. The Browns didn’t even have their starting QB in the game. Yes, they were on the road, but that is really no excuse considering how they have just demolished everyone this season. It was a bad loss, but dont expect them to keep falling in the rankings. They will stay in the Top 5 all season I believe. There might be some injury concerns with their offense, but that team is still very strong.

3: Kansas City Chiefs (5-1)

The Chiefs offense really hasn’t been great this year, but I can’t continue to under rank them. They are winning games, despite how it looks. They defeated the Broncos this week and their next two games will be against the Chargers and Broncos again. I think they are probably going to be staying put for now.

2: Miami Dolphins (5-1)

The Dolphins could have been in consideration for the top spot, but they have a bad defense. Their offense, on the other hand, elite as elite can be. There are little to no flaws in the Dolphins Offense at the moment and I dont think that is going to change. They have a big test against the Eagles coming up and will get to prove just how legitimate they can be.

1: Detroit Lions (5-1)

The Detroit Lions are at the to of my rankings this week! Wow, didn’t think that phrase could be uttered, but they’re here and they are legit. They had a huge win against a solid Tampa Bay team. I said last week, don’t be surprised if they go on a real run to finish the season. The Ravens could be a stumper for them, but if they get past them, it is pretty much smooth sailing for the Lions for the rest of the season.
