NFL Top 10 Power Ranking (After Week 11)

AP

Thanksgiving is this week and things are really heating up in the NFL From last week, you probably won’t notice too many changes from last week, but that just means the good teams are settling in. There will be one new team coming up this week and not a lot of shifting at all. The Viking dropped out of the Top 10, after a quick spell. I just wanted to give them a bit of shine after winning 5 straight games, but they drop out after losing to the Broncos. Speaking of which, I was down to the Broncos and the 10th ranked team this week for the new team to take the Vikings’ place. The Broncos are on fire right now and have won 4 straight games. They may end up on next week’s rankings, so be on the look out for them. Well, I won’t waste any more time. Here is the Top 10 this week.

10: Houston Texans (6-4)

Never did I ever think that the Houston Texans would be in discussion for a Top 20 team, needless to say the Top 10. I think they have entered that discussion. Sure, their win against the Cardinals wasn’t exactly a season-defining win, but they have been finding a way to win all season long. They have been just as good, if not better, than their division rival Jacksonville Jaguars. CJ Stroud looks like he is going to be playing in this league at a high level in no time at all and their vibe is positive right now. Speaking of the Jags, they have a matchup with them coming up in Week 12, so we’ll see if they can secure those big games.

9: Jacksonville Jaguars (7-3)

No change for the Jags this week, despite the dominant performance against the Tennessee Titans at home. They almost fell out of the Top 10 after getting stomped by the Niners, but they redeemed themselves. There was a bit of concern that Trevor Lawrence may be injured, but I think he puts those concerns to rest. He dominated the Titans. Calvin Ridley also had his first multi-TD game as a Jaguar. I mentioned it above, but the Jags will have a tough division matchup against Houston this week and it will be a game that decides the division lead.

8: Cleveland Browns (7-3)

The Browns were dealt a blow earlier in the week when it was announced that Deshaun Watson would miss the remainder of the season, but that didn’t phase them. Honestly, I think they aren’t much worse, if any, without him. Watson hasn’t been what they paid for and I don’t think it matters who is leading the team. That defense is going to dominate regardless. They had a big rival win agains Pittsburgh this week and they have some winnable games coming up. They will be facing the Broncos coming up and they are red-hot at the moment. Winners in 4 straight. Will the Browns tumble outside of the Top 10 and the Broncos make their Power Ranking debut? Or will the Browns defense prevail and maintain their status? I guess we shall find out this week.

7: Dallas Cowboys (7-3)

The Cowboys took down the hometown Panthers and it wasn’t even close. They had two consecutive blowout victories and it appears that they’re one of the best teams in the NFC. Dallas really didn’t have to do a lot to secure the victory on Sunday. It is always a real test when they play teams of prominence. They have the Commanders on Thanksgiving and it will be the first meeting between the two teams. I expect a Cowboys victory and they may climb a little bit in the rankings. I just couldn’t do it after the two wins agains the Giants and Panthers.

6: Miami Dolphins (7-3)

Miami hasn’t looked like quite the team they were in the beginning of the season, but I can’t knock them back too far for that. They’re still winning games and still have one of the best offenses in football, but they didn’t look good against the Raiders. They almost got beat. The Dolphins have the Jets on a special Friday night game. With the QB controversy in the Jets camp, the Dolphins should win pretty easily.

5: Baltimore Ravens (8-3)

Baltimore redeemed themselves after a close loss to the Browns with a win agains the Bengals. The Bengals lost Joe Burrow in the game and the Ravens took advantage of his absence. The Ravens lost Mark Andrews for the year too, so that will be a big loss for them moving forward. Isaiah Likely will get more looks and we’ll see if he can step up for them. I’m not worried about the Ravens though, they’re a solid team and they can hang with any team.

4:San Francisco 49ers (7-3)

San Fran has had two strong weeks consecutively and will play on the Thanksgiving night game this week. They will take on the Seahawks and they’re banged up, so look for the Niners to take advantage of that. Brock Purdy is starting to enter the elite discussion. He has been phenomenal this season and in a prove-it type of year, he has proven himself. Things are starting to click again for them and I think they can beat any team right now.

3: Detroit Lions (8-2)

The Lions didn’t look too impressive agains the Bears this week, but I can’t drop them in the rankings this week because of it. The Bears are capable of hanging with teams with Justin Fields leading the offense, so I can’t fault them too much. The Packers are up next for the Lions in their annual Thanksgiving game and it is great to see the Lions finally have a quality team for their Thanksgiving Day game. So, while you’re eating your turkey, watch the Lions tear it up.

2: Kansas City Chiefs (7-3)

There are teams with a better record below the Chiefs, but I can’t drop them for losing a close game to the Eagles. I thought the Eagles would gotten beat, but they closed it out. The Chiefs had yet another poor performance from their receiving core and it could be troublesome for the team further down the line. We’re seeing that Mahomes can lead this team, but he cannot do everything for the offense. They need a solid receiving core if they want to go on a playoff run.

1: Philadelphia Eagles (9-1)

The Eagles have been iffy in some of their games, but they’re proving it each and every week that they’re the cream of the crop. The Eagles are the best team in the NFC all season long and it doesn’t appear that they’re slowing down any time soon. They have a prime time game against the Bills coming up this week and it will be a big game for both teams. More importantly, it feels like a must-win for the Bills, so it should be a great game.
