Song of the Day: Lost Highway

Today would have been the legendary Hank Williams’ 100th Birthday and I wanted to honor him today. Hank is one of my favorite artists and he is one of those artists that I can just sit down and listen to for hours on end. This featured song he actually didn’t write, which is more rare than not. He wrote most of his music and he was perhaps the biggest influence in country music history. Hank recorded the song just a few months after the original was released by the song’s writer, Leon Payne. Hank was known for the songs that reflected his life and even though he didn’t write this one, it was a perfect song for him. He was only 26 at the time and I think about that sometimes in amazement. in more ways than one. Well, I hope everyone has a great Sunday. Enjoy your day.
