Welcome back to another Hornets Report. Charlotte had a tough week and thankfully they have a week-long break ahead of them. At the moment, they are sitting at 7th place in the Eastern Conference with a 27-30 record. Only one game separates them from the 10th place Orlando Magic, so needless to say, the race is going to be a tight one for the rest of the season. They looked like a playoff contending team against the Hawks last Saturday. They shot a high percentage from the field, but in the other two games, underperformance was an understatement. They hit less than a third of their shots from the field in both games combined. At this point, it doesn’t seem like the Hornets have a chance in the Playoffs. If they make the Playoffs, they will likely face the Bucks, Raptors, or Celtics in a series and at this point, they absolutely don’t stand a chance against those teams. Hopefully they can get on a roll after the break and maybe find themselves in a better matchup to advance.

Kemba Walker is the only All-Star on the roster and will be the starting PG on Team Giannis on Sunday night. He will also be in the 3-Point Contest, which will be fun to see. Last night was the Rising Stars Challenge and Team USA captured the win, 161-144. To go along with Kemba, Miles Bridges will be in the Dunk Contest tonight and will look to put on a show for the home crowd. It is great to see the All-Star Game festivities in Charlotte and the game will be huge for the city. Hopefully we see some more big game opportunities and big events like this in the near future. The Hornets do not play until next Friday and they will face off with the Washington Wizards at home. It should be a good game for the Hornets to rebound from and they will need to get a win to brace for the tough schedule coming up in the following week. Stay tuned in for All-Star Week and hopefully the Hornets that are representing Charlotte pick up some big wins in the ASG contests.
