Song of the Day: Electric Avenue

Released a tad later than usual, today’s song of the day is Eddy Grant’s “Electric Avenue.” Released in 1983, it was one of the biggest hits of the year, going all the way to the 2nd spot on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. Largely forgotten, it has made a comeback in recent years for followers of Barstool Sports, due to it being used as the opening theme song for Big Cat’s and PFT’s “Pardon My Take” podcast. I remember being at Wrigley Field in 2017 and hearing this song during the game, thinking that it was all because of Big Cat, who was from Chicago and a big Cubs fan. Everyone enjoy their Wednesday!
