Coby White ... The Quiet Assassin
Shout Out to Coby White on attaining an NBA record for the first rookie to record 3 consecutive 30 point plus games on 2/23/20. This record is a huge accomplishment for so many reasons. Coby White is 6'5" combo guard hailing from Wilson, NC, and a former NC Tarheel.
Before Coby's first and only year at Chapel Hill, he suffered the loss of his father, which played a big part in motivating him to be successful. Coby averaged 16.1 points per game for the Tarheels and was instrumental to the success the team had. He is well missed by the Heels this season.
Coby started his college career as a 4star recruit with a college career outlook 2-3years, but immeadialty started to show his star potential once the season began. Leading the heels to a 29-7 overall and 16-2 ACC record, it became inevitable that Coby was a one and done.
In the 2019 draft, Coby was selected #7 by the bulls and had an impressive summer league campaign. Although Coby does not start for the Bulls, he provides the spark off the bench that the team needs. To me, that is whats impressive about him. No matter the obstacle he faces, he always shows up to perform. He always seems to be underestimated until his game starts speaking for him. Coby has a bright future, and I am proud to say he is a Carolina Alumni and native.
