AEW Power Rankings: Week of May 1st 2020
I can’t believe it is already the month of May. Dynamite had a wonderful show this week with a lot of great matches. Double or Nothing is less than a month away and I think we should be seeing more feud centered segments in the next couple of weeks. Here are my rankings for last week though.
5: Shawn Spears
It was a quick win this week for Shawn Spears. There isn’t much to say about it. It was a typical squash match that will give him a little momentum moving forward.
4: Brodie Lee
Brodie Lee won quickly as well, but he defeated Marko Stunt. Stunt is looking more and more like he is the Spike Dudley of AEW and for now, that is perfectly fine. Brodie Lee isn’t on the AEW singles Power Rankings as of now, but I expect him to emerge on the list within the next couple of weeks.
3: Best Friends
Best Friends picked up a big win against the team of Kip Sabian and Jimmy Havoc. It was a fun match that actually lasted a little while. They have been on fire as of late and have had a great 2020. Look for them to get title shots in the near future.
2: Lance Archer
The Murderhawk emerged in the main event of Dynamite and beat Dustin Rhodes to advance to the Championship Round to decide the new TNT Champion. It was an entertaining match and I’m ready to watch Cody and Archer have a battle.
1: Cody
Cody beat Darby Allin in the opener to advance and he will face Lance Archer at Double or Nothing. This proves that they want to had prestige to the TNT Championship and this match should be great. We still don’t know what the title looks like, but we will find out soon enough.
