NXT TakeOver: Vengeance Day Predictions
We are just one week ahead of the Elimination Chamber PPV, but before that, we have another action-packed NXT TakeOver show. There are a lot of interesting matches on the card and frankly, we could see some titles changing hands tonight. It is always more difficult to find odds on NXT PPVs, but to be fair, I almost like it better that way. I like to integrate odds into my prediction articles, but if it isn’t possible, I seem to have more fun predicting possible match outcomes. I’m anxious to watch tonight and here are my predictions.

*card is likely not in exact order
- Women’s Triple Threat Match: NXT Women’s Championship
Io Shirai (C) vs. Toni Storm vs. Mercedes Martinez
I think this match will start the show tonight and if so, I think it would be a wonderful choice to get things started. Triple Threat matches usually mean that a title change could be looming and that may be the case, but I don’t think it will happen tonight. Io Shirai has held onto the title for 250 days and I think that will continue beyond tonight. If Shirai drops the title tonight, I think Toni Storm will be your winner. I selfishly kind want Storm to win because I predicted her to win the title at some point in 2021, but I think she will get another singles shot at the belt and ultimately win.
- Men’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Finals
MSK vs. Grizzled Young Veterans
This match is pretty tough to predict, but I think they newcomers will get the win. They have had a ton of momentum as of late and I think their ring style would complement Burch and Lorcan’s in an upcoming match. The winner of the match tonight gets a shot at the NXT Tag Belts and I don’t know when they would get the match, but either team would have a good match with the champs.
- Women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Finals
Raquel Gonzalez and Dakota Kai vs. Ember Moon and Shotzi Blackheart
I’m personally more interested in this match rather than the Men’s Finals. Just like the men, the women will receive a tag title shot and I think Ember Moon and Shotzi get the win tonight. Raquel Gonzalez and Dakota Kai have great chemistry and I think they have a real shot, but something just tells me that they’re not going to win. We’ll see what happens and I’m interested to see the match.
- Men’s Singles Match: NXT North American Championship
Johnny Gargano (C) vs. Kushida
Much like the rest of the show, this match is tough to predict. Gargano is notorious for having short title reigns and it seems like he could be bound for a somewhat lengthy title reign, but I think Kushida has the momentum to win tonight. I think the only way Gargano will win is if someone interferes in the match. The match should be a wonderfully showing by two very talented competitors, but I think we see at title change hands.
- Men’s Singles Match: NXT Championship
Finn Bálor (C) vs. Pete Dunne
I’m going with a gut prediction here. Do I think Bálor will drop the title? Probably not, but I feel like it could be one of those things that could provide some shock factor. Bálor has had a solid run with the belt and one of the biggest reasons for Bálor’s move to NXT was to elevate younger talent. Not only would a title loss tonight do that, but the championship would be in some good hands. I have been a fan of Pete Dunne’s for quite a while and I think it is time for him to prove himself as NXT Champion.
