Song of the Day: A Thousand Miles

On Monday I chose a song with “500 Miles” in the title with The Proclaimers song, “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles).” So I figured since the week is twice as old as it was on Monday, I would double that 500 miles and choose the Vanessa Carlton song, “A Thousand Miles.” And if I’m completely honest, I absolutely LOVE this song. I don’t know if it’s just me, or if it’s one of those songs that a lot of people secretly like, but this song has always done it for me. The piano part alone is enough to make me want to learn how to play this on piano, even though I can’t play anything on piano. And then, of course, Vanessa Carlton kills it vocally. I can’t believe this song was released all the way back in 2002, which is probably another reason I like it, because it reminds me of my school days growing up.
