Song of the Day: Roadhouse Blues

Roadhouse Blues by The Doors. Released in 1970 on the album Morrison Hotel. Roadhouse Blues sounds about exactly what you would expect from a song with that title. It’s a song that you would get if you combined rock and roll and blues and then added a little southern twist to it. Roadhouse Blues peaked at 50 on the US charts, but it was the only single from the Morrison Hotel album, which peaked at #4 on the US charts. The song also has one of my favorite lines in probably about any song, which is the line from Jim Morrison “Well I woke up this morning and I got myself a beer” Such a good line it had to be repeated twice.
