Money in the Bank (2022) Predictions

WWE

What used to be a WrestleMania mainstay is an event within itself now. Money in the Bank is here and there is a lot of interest surrounding it as usual. We have only 6 matches on the card thus far, but they’re poised to be good showings. Much like the Royal Rumble, there are a couple favorites, but honestly, it’s anyone’s match to win. It is so intriguing because a title change can happen in an instant and we could even see a surprising title change tonight. This PPV was initially supposed to be at the Raiders stadium, but plans changed. It is still in Las Vegas though and it should be a good show. I don’t have much more to say, so let’s dive in.

*Predicted winners are bolded.

WWE

-       Men’s Tag Team Match: Unified WWE Tag Team Championship

The Usos (C) vs. The Street Profits

The Street Profits could be the team to take down The Usos, but I don’t think the timing is right here. The Usos have held the SmackDown belts for one year, well in 2 weeks it will be a full year. The timing isn't right for the Usos to drop the belts just yet. It will happen, but I don’t think it is going to be tonight. It isn't a big enough stage for it.

WWE

-       Women’s Singles Match: SmackDown Women’s Championship

Ronda Rousey (C) vs. Natalya

I am glad that they decided to revisit this feud. They have a good story to tell and I don’t think they could’ve found a better opponent for the champ. They mesh well, and I think we will get a great match tonight. With that being said though, there’s no chance Ronda is losing this match. Could she lose the belt tonight? Possibly, but more on that later. Rousey is a huge, huge favorite. She has -2000 odds to win.

WWE

-       Men’s Singles Match: United States Championship

Austin Theory (C) vs. Bobby Lashley

I think we get a title change here. It wouldn't surprise me to see Theory retain, but I think Lashley will win his third US Championship tonight. Theory is favored at -200, but just knowing how quickly the WWE likes to swap minor champions gives me the idea that another title change could be on the horizon. If the US title is that important to Theory though, he could easily win it back soon. This is a great matchup and I’m interested to see how it plays out.

WWE

-       Women’s Singles Match: RAW Women’s Championship

Bianca Belair (C) vs. Carmella

Based on the fact that Roman Reigns isn't on the card tonight, I think we’ll see a women’s briefcase cash-in tonight. Will it be this match? I say no, but who knows? It could happen. With that being said, there’s no chance Carmella is winning tonight. This was just a nice filler match with Bianca getting a good opponent to have a match with. Belair has the highest odds to win on the card at -2500.

WWE

-Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match

Liv Morgan vs. Lacey Evans vs. Raquel Rodriguez vs. Alexa Bliss vs. Asuka vs. Becky Lynch vs. Shotzi

Prior to the entrants being announced, I was Team Lacey all the way, I’m having doubts though. I think this ladder match is pretty much wide open as far as a potential winner is concerned, but I cannot bet against Becky Lynch. Becky has too much history with the champs to be ignored. I think most fans are probably rooting for Liv or Lacey to win, but I think Becky is your winner and bold prediction, she will walk out of Las Vegas with the SmackDown Women’s Championship. Everyone is wanting to see that Ronda and Becky feud get a kickstart and what better way to do it? Becky is favored currently with the order going down to Liv, Lacey, Alexa, Raquel, Asuka, and Shotzi.

WWE

-       Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match

Sheamus vs. Madcap Moss vs. Drew McIntyre vs. Omos vs. Riddle vs. Seth Rollins vs. Sami Zayn

I think this one is a little less open than the Women’s match. I think you have 3 potential winners here. I think it will either be Rollins, McIntyre or Riddle. Rollins is the favorite surprisingly enough, but I think the fact that he has a deep, deep history with Roman gives him the favoring edge. Personally, I don’t think he needs the briefcase to get back at him though. Same goes for McIntyre. He doesn’t need the briefcase to see Roman Reigns. He hasn’t faced this new iteration of Tribal Chief and fans want to see that regardless of the fact if he has the briefcase or not. Riddle makes the most sense here. Sure, Riddle didn’t beat Roman in their last match, but he took him to the limit. The match was great, and it is definitely something that we need to revisit. Riddle and the briefcase seems like a natural pairing right now, I think it would be ignorant on WWE’s part to not give him another shot, especially with Randy Orton out for an extended period of time. Rollins is favored with McIntyre, Riddle, Sami Zayn, Omos, Madcap, and Sheamus following in order. Don’t expect a cash-in, but expect a fun match.
