Song of the Day: Sweet Baby James

Sweet Baby James by James Taylor. Released in February of 1970 on the album also titled Sweet Baby James. The song Sweet Baby James was written by James Taylor as he was driving through North Carolina on the way to meet his baby nephew for the first time. His nephew was also named James and was actually named after him. So as Taylor was driving he came up with this cowboy/lullaby song for his nephew, which ended up becoming the title song to his album, one of his most well known songs, and the song that James Taylor himself says is his best.
