Best Bets of the Day (March 11th)
Today is the day! North Carolina residents can finally place sports bets from the comfort of their home. It is a monumental day and a day that I have all of us at The Sports Chief have been waiting for. Now that sports betting is officially legal, I have decided to start a new series of articles. For now, this will be called Best Bets of the Day. In this article, I will detail some bets that I have my eye on and maybe give some insight as to why I am betting on any certain thing. I don’t know if this will be an everyday thing, but I am going to try to get these articles out as frequently as possible. Let’s not waste any more time! - Sun Belt Championship Final
James Madison (-5.5; -105) (-245 ML) over Arkansas State
Ok, my first bet in North Carolina will be for the Sun Belt Championship! James Madison has dominated all season long. They were 2nd in the regular season Sun Belt standing only trailing Appalachian State. In fact, App State was the only team to hand the JMU Dukes a home loss. For this one, I am going to play it safe and go with the -245 ML, but I honestly wouldn't have an issue going with the spread either. In the only matchup with Arkansas State, they won 77-73 on the road. I say playing in a neutral site gives them a little better advantage. Give me the Dukes tonight and I think Terrence Edwards Jr. is going to ball out tonight.

Boston Bruins 60 Min Line (-140) over St. Louis Blues
I have never betted on a 60 Min Line before, but how it works is that this will only reflect the regulation periods during the game. The bet is over at the end of regulation. While I am a little nervous considering the Bruins go to overtime more than any team in hockey, I don’t think they will have any issues against the struggling Blues on home ice. The Blues counterbalance it as they’re among the league low when it comes to OT appearances. The Bruins outscored the Leafs and Penguins 9-2 in their last two games at home, so they shouldn’t have any problems getting by the Blues tonight.

Newcastle United Draw No Bet (+190)
I’ve gotta have at least one underdog bet on day 1, right? Well, I think I have a good one for you. The only reason I feel like Chelsea is favored here is because they’re playing at home. Newcastle has been a slightly better team this season and I think they will either win or draw. In their last 4 contests, Newcastle has a 2-1-1 advantage. Their only loss was in a Carabao Cup matchup where Chelsea won on penalty kicks. Also, this is a very safe underdog bet for soccer because if they draw, which is a decent possibility, your wager is refunded.
