NBA DraftKings Tips for 11/16/18
Tonight, on DraftKings there is a $5 game that could potentially win you $100K. Sounds amazing, right?!?!?!!? Well…if you want to win, listen up! Tonight’s slate consists of 8 games which is not too overwhelming in terms of a player pool. Tonight, I will be entering in mostly double up’s (Meaning $5 entries win you $10) and a $12 single entry tournament. My style is mostly conservative, as I try to research who is getting what minutes and who may get extra run for their team.
The format for the novices out there goes as follows. Just like in NFL DraftKings games, you have $50,000 in salary for your squad. You select 8 players, 1 Point Guard, 1 Shooting Guard, 1 Small Forward, 1 Power Forward, and 1 Center. Then you select 1 Guard and Forward, then 1 utility player which could be any position. The scoring is pretty straight forward, and is listed on the rules & scoring of the game you choose.
My top two picks for tonight are PG/SG Victor Oladipo at $9,300 and C Karl Anthony-Towns at $9,600. They are well-rounded players who can do it all. Not only do they score in bunches, they pad their stat line with steals, blocks, rebounds, and 3-point field goals. They both average 45 DK points per game which is among the highest. Towns will be pretty chalky I suspect tonight (chalky means highly picked) because Portland is ranked 21st in defending opposing Centers, Oladipo may be sneaky though as he is around the price range of Lillard $9,100 vs MIN and John Wall $9,500 against BKN. My reasoning for that is, Indiana vs Miami is a pretty boring matchup, but nonetheless, Oladipo is rock solid.
My “sleeper” pick tonight would be Allonzo Trier at $4,200. The Knicks guard starts and plays a solid role, according to Coach Fizdale. His low price makes him a nice pick to fill out your team. If you are a hardcore player, go with a Brooklyn Nets guard/forward tonight. Caris LaVert is going to be out for a while, so think about Spencer Dinwiddie $5,700, DeMarre Carroll $4,000 Allen Crabbe $3,700, or even Shabazz Napier $3,500. Take one at your own risk, but it could result in big money as all of these guys will see their minutes increase.
Minnesota is my team to pick tonight, I have 4 players picked actually. My belief is that since Butler has been traded, the Wolves will be a high-scoring team that does not play defense, which means, I would go against them some too. Chicago v. Milwaukee is intriguing as well, the game has an over/under of 224 total points, and Milwaukee averages over 120 points a game.
Is there a formula that guarantees you to win all the time on DraftKings…probably not…but, this year has been solid for me as I have been able to play multiple entries for a couple weeks. My advice would be to check out Rotowire.com and their free NBA daily lineups prior to tip-off, it is a tool I have used for years, and go by matchups in selecting your players. In later articles, I plan on going over strategies and things of that nature, but for the meantime…LET’S WIN SOME $$$$$!!!!!!!
